  • Representative Matters

    Represented the prevailing business owner in a complex dissolution which required two-day and nineteen-day trials. The opposing party appealed twice to the Third District Court of Appeal resulting in a yet another trial (at which time the client again prevailed) and ultimately also resulted in the legislature creating Family Code §218. In re Marriage of Boblitt (2014) 223 Cal.App.4th 1004.

    Represented a mother at trial successfully securing full custody orders against a father with a prior out-of-state conviction.  The Family Court Services’ counselor had recommended joint custody.  Convinced a Sacramento Judge and the Attorney General’s Office that the father’s out-of-state conviction qualified under Penal Code §290 sexual offender “Megan’s List” such that the father is now listed with photo and residential information warning the public.

    Represented a husband at trial in defeating a domestic violence restraining order after his wife had accused him of poisoning her first at their home and again while she was hospitalized.  Client had been removed from their home.  The case involved team of doctors, investigators and toxicologists.  Restraining orders were dismissed, client was returned to his home and his wife was ordered to not contact him again.

    Represented a father of three sons (who had been denied any visitation with his children) after the mother fled to a shelter claiming sexual abuse as well as physical abuse to herself and the children.  Mother’s domestic violence restraining order was denied and father was subsequently granted full custody of the children after trial.  The ruling was successfully defended on appeal.  A.G. v. C.S. (2016) 246 Cal.App.4th 1269.

    Represented a wife at trial contesting her husband’s accusation that she had defrauded him into marriage.  The case resolved with husband admitting his fault before the court and the family court awarding the innocent wife an annulment.

    Represented a mother at trial level in child support action concerning the Uniform Interstate Support Act.  The Court of Appeal agreed with arguments presented in a published opinion of first impression interpreting California Family Code §4009. Stone v. Davis (2007) 148 Cal.App.4th 596.
